Raise the Vibe

When life feels full of conflict or like an uphill climb, or when I am out of sorts and disconnected from what matters most, or I'm anxious inside and in a reactive state, it's easy to grasp for explanation or distraction and spin farther off center. The comfort of our "stories" come creeping in and we hold tight to our "position" in an attempt to convince ourselves that we're okay, we're not bad or unworthy. But in so doing we cut ourselves off from the flow.

What takes practice is slowing down, making space, and being with what is. Even when it's uncomfortable. Especially when it's uncomfortable.

The best way I know for raising my vibe and realigning with the vast magic of my soul is this practice of yoga. Everyday I make the space to listen in with my breath and follow the energetic movements of my body. Everyday this makes all the difference. And slowly, the fluctuations of life's turbulence settles and I remember the wide field of possibility that I am.

Showing up for ourselves. Really showing up for ourselves can be a crazy challenge. But when we go for it and make that space to get present with our own wild nature, our own deep pain, our own sweet longing, we begin to remember our connection to all that is. Our tight grip loosens, our energy lightens, shift happens.

And just like that, bit by bit, we raise the vibe. It starts inside. With time it ripples wide. Inevitably impacting our relationships, or communities and eventually our world.

Because as we change, the world changes. I believe wholeheartedly that our inner work is the work. And everyday I get to do a piece of that inner work on myself, or hold the space to facilitate it in another I know without a shadow of a doubt that life is happening through me and I am changing the world.
